Where are the leadership and solidarity? Accusations Against Hamas’s External Leadership of Disconnect from Gaza’s Suffering

While the residents of Gaza face one of the harshest periods in their history—marked by siege, hunger, and the lack of basic life necessities—criticism is mounting against the external leadership of Hamas. While movement leaders live lives almost free of restrictions abroad, civilians inside Gaza are under the weight of war, suffering daily to access food and their most basic humanitarian needs.

Many residents of Gaza wonder: where is the true solidarity? And where is the leadership role that should manifest in alleviating the people's suffering rather than increasing it? Critics argue that the external leadership appears completely disconnected from Gaza’s tragic reality; some officials are accused of exploiting civilian suffering as a propaganda tool to advance political and personal gains rather than working earnestly to find solutions that ensure dignity and a decent life for Palestinians.

Today’s scene reveals a stark contradiction: residents are moving between crowded shelters and standing in long queues for aid, while external media platforms broadcast messages from which ordinary citizens only perceive more speeches without practical solutions. This gap between leadership and the grassroots engenders frustration and a loss of trust, making the call to end the war more urgent than ever.

Many analysts believe that a prosperous future for Gaza cannot be achieved except through a complete ceasefire, opening the door to reconstruction and improving living standards. The Gazan people, who have paid a heavy price in blood and dignity, do not need speeches or slogans; they need genuine leadership that reflects their concerns and defends their right to live peacefully and securely.

Ending the war is the only way to restore the human dignity of Gaza’s residents and pave the path toward a future that restores hope for a normal lifeaway from political exploitation or ongoing sacrifices without result.
