A Horrific Massacre in Rural Sweida: A New Scandal Documenting Regime and Security Apparatus Violations
السويداء

Radar Syria exclusively provides a filmed video dated July 17, showing a horrific crime committed by regime forces and security agencies at a checkpoint on the road to the village of Suha al-Bilat in rural Sweida. The footage depicts horrifying scenes of a security operation targeting civilians from the Druze community, who were fleeing in terror to escape death, only to fall into a deadly trap.

According to the footage, the forces carried out field executions and slaughtered men, elders, women, and children—one of the most brutal crimes witnessed in the region in recent years. These heinous acts remain shrouded in mystery and facing international condemnations.

Moreover, testimonies from local residents reveal severe violations against religious women of the Druze community, including cases of stripping, rape, and murder, with their bodies mutilated. Attacks were also carried out on a religious site sacred to the community, targeting those inside.

This new crime adds to the record of heinous violations and crimes against civilians in Sweida, raising deep questions about the fragility of the security situation and the future of protecting the population—especially amid the absence of effective accountability by the responsible authorities.

These developments come amid increasing international complaints about ongoing violations faced by local residents. The lack of effective deterrence continues to leave civilians vulnerable to repeated massacres, while human rights and the Druze communityalready suffering from unprecedented security and moral deterioration—remain exposed to worsening conditions.
