German Warnings Against Traveling to Syria

The international community continues to issue strict warnings regarding travel to Syria due to the unstable security and political situation in the country. In the latest statements, the German embassy in Damascus confirmed that the embassy is currently closed, with consular services reduced to emergency cases only, reflecting the severity of the situation and hindering support for the community and individuals wishing to travel or return.
Syria is experiencing severe instability, with ongoing armed clashes in multiple areas, especially in the northern, southern, and eastern regions. There has been a noticeable increase in abductions and extrajudicial killings, particularly along the coastal areas. These developments are leading to a deteriorating humanitarian situation and increasing risks for civilians, making movement within the country dangerous.
Regarding the borders, repeated restrictions and closures are imposed without prior notice on the Syrian borders with Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, and Iraq. This complicates entry and exit processes and significantly restricts movement. The unstable security situation imposes strict restrictions on arrivals and residents and further aggravates the humanitarian and economic crisis in the country, urging everyone to avoid unnecessary travel to ensure safety and security.
