In a scene resembling one of the darkest chapters of real-life drama, the case of Syrian national Abdel Rahman al-Akkari stands out as one of the most shocking crimes, in which marital infidelity became intertwined with a premeditated murder, turning an entire family’s life upside down. The tragedy began in 2020, when difficult living conditions placed immense pressure on Abdel Rahman, who worked long hours to provide a decent life for his wife and children after leaving Syria and settling in Lebanon.
However, the life he was striving to build gradually began to deteriorate from within. His wife, Nora, reportedly grew increasingly dissatisfied with their financial circumstances and sought an escape through a secret relationship that began on social media with a Palestinian man living in Lebanon. Abdel Rahman never imagined that the person closest to him was plotting his demise. The wife allegedly began carrying out the plan by repeatedly placing toxic substances in her husband’s food, causing his health to deteriorate steadily until he became bedridden. The two suspects allegedly attempted to conceal the crime by presenting it as a natural death resulting from his deteriorating health. However, doctors who examined the body detected a head injury and severe bleeding that were inconsistent with a natural death. After receiving the report, security forces launched an investigation and examined the wife’s phone.
