Israeli Airstrikes on Military Sites in Rif of Homs and Rif of Lattakia
غارات إسرائيلية على مواقع عسكرية في ريفي حمص واللاذقية

Tonight, Monday, Israeli occupation aircraft carried out airstrikes on military sites in the Rif of Homs and the Rif of Lattakia, with no precise information yet available regarding the extent of the resulting damages. A Syria TV correspondent reported that the targeting struck the outskirts of the Oras region in the Rif of Homs, where three simultaneous explosions were heard.

Later, the same aircraft carried out a strike around a military base in the Sqoubin area in Lattakia Governorate, with no additional details yet available about the damages or casualties.

This bombing comes amid expectations of a significant meeting between Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Shibani later this week, according to Israeli media sources.

Recently, Israel had launched multiple airstrikes targeting various locations in Syria, followed by a commando raid in the Al-Kiswah area in western Damascus. The operation targeted Syrian military sites and resulted in the killing of six soldiers and the destruction of military vehicles, according to the official Syrian news agency, SANA. The agency also noted that the attacks targeted monitoring and interception devices used on Jebel Al-Mann, south of Damascus. These were followed by another airstrike and a helicopter raid involving military helicopters.

These attacks are part of a continuous escalation by Israel, focusing along the border with the occupied Syrian Golan. Israel conducts espionage and reconnaissance operations using drones, along with direct interventions inside Syrian territory, including the detention of civilians working in agriculture and near the separation lines.

The frequency of Israeli assaults on Syria has increased since the fall of the Assad regime, with hundreds of strikes targeting Syrian army positions to destroy infrastructural facilities and prevent their rehabilitation. There have also been ground incursions into the suburbs of Damascus, Quneitra, and Daraa, where Israel controls the buffer zone and continues to carry out raids on border areas.

In the context of escalation, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz previously stated that Israeli forces would continue their presence atop Mount Hermon and in the buffer zone, claiming that this aims to protect the occupied territories in the Golan and Galilee.
