Jenin Governor: Security agencies will impose order immediately after the Israeli army withdraws from the camp

Genin governor, Kamel Abu Rabe, confirmed that the Palestinian security forces will be ready to expand their control and enforce the rule of law in Jenin refugee camp immediately upon the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces. This statement comes amid multiple comments from Hamas leaders and members of Jenin Brigades regarding the future security situation in the camp.
Abu Rabe explained that the Palestinian Authority will not allow a return to the previous scene, where armed groups controlled the camp. He considered this to be a primary reason behind the Israeli army's raid on the camp, which resulted in extensive destruction and significant damage to infrastructure and property.
A source close to the governor indicated that Palestinian leadership views the necessity of imposing order and strengthening security in Jenin seriously, aiming to prevent recurrence of past events and ensure long-term stability for the camp and its residents. He also emphasized that security agencies will work to restore normal life in cooperation with the residents, while maintaining citizens’ safety and dignity.
These statements come amid ongoing discussions among various Palestinian factions about the post-withdrawal phase of the Israeli army and the need for a clear plan to restore order and preserve civil peace. It appears that the authorities are determined not to leave a security vacuum that armed groups could exploit again.
It is anticipated that these steps will put an end to the chaos experienced by the camp in recent months and re-establish the authority of the law as a fundamental guarantee for protecting citizens in an increasingly complex security environment.
