Netanyahu Looks Forward to Strategic Cooperation with Trump to Reinforce the Middle East's Position
ترامب ونتنياهو

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a message of appreciation to former U.S. President Donald Trump today, Sunday, declaring that their cooperation could restore the Middle East’s status and importance. In a post on X, Netanyahu said: "Thank you, Donald Trump. Together, we will bring back the greatness of the Middle East."

These remarks came after Trump criticized, in another post, the ongoing trial against Netanyahu, describing him as a "war hero who did great work with the United States against Iran, and now he’s negotiating a deal with Hamas while facing charges."

For several months, Netanyahu has been appearing twice weekly in court to respond to the charges against him, but his sessions were halted during the 12-day war with Iran.

In a different context, the Israeli newspaper "Israel HaYom" revealed that there is broad consensus between Trump and Netanyahu on a new strategic plan for the region. It includes ending the Gaza war within two weeks, expanding the Abraham Accords to include new countries such as Syria and Saudi Arabia, and a preliminary declaration of readiness for a two-state solution under Israeli conditions, including partial sovereignty over some areas of the West Bank.

The paper noted that this consensus was reached during a quadruple phone call involving Trump, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Netanyahu, and Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, immediately after the U.S. attack on Iranian nuclear facilities. A well-informed source told the participants that the call was full of enthusiasm, especially after the success of American strikes using B-2 bombers, which created an opportunity to establish the main outlines of a joint defense and security plan.
