Revolutionary Youth of Iran: Fire in Response to Mullahs' Oppression

Following an assault by Iranian regime security forces on angry residents of Sabzevar, who took to the streets protesting water shortages and faced tear gas, the revolutionary youth in Iran targeted several centers of repression, looting, and corruption associated with the mullahs. They also set fire to images of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in various cities. Through 15 fiery attacks on corrupt institutions, looting, and oppressive bases, the protesting youth ignited a spark of "fire" and rebellion among the exhausted youth and people.
These revolutionary operations, carried out in honor of the protesting residents of Sabzevar, included:
- Attacking the leadership of the Public Security Forces in Roodbar.
- Setting fire to a regime-affiliated corruption and looting institution in Astana Ashrafiyeh.
- Attacking the Khomeini Relief Committee, a major semi-governmental organization, in Astara with Molotov cocktails.
- Burning Basij bases affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards in Borujerd, Khash, Soran, and Srawan.
- Burning government banners bearing images of the regime’s founder Ruhollah Khomeini, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and former President Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran, Karraj, Orumiyeh, Chalous, Qom, Doroud, Ramin, and Aliabad Kotel.
On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, starting at 7:15 PM, residents of Sabzevar gathered in the governor’s office square on Abu Zahr Street to protest water and electricity outages. Led by women, workers of all ages took to the streets, chanting: "Water, electricity, life, our inalienable rights."
Security forces' vehicles were stationed in front of the governor’s office to confront the crowd. Police and intelligence agents in civilian clothes attempted to disperse the protesters with threats and beatings, repressing the unarmed people with tear gas. However, the people did not retreat. After the tear gas was fired, they stood firm against the Khamenei apparatus, shouting: "Shame on you! Shame on you!" and chanting:
- "We are all together, don’t be afraid."
- "Water, electricity, life, our inalienable rights."
- "We won’t leave until we get our rights."
- "Our rights are taken on the streets."
- "No electricity, no water, and the governor is asleep."
- "Our enemy is here, they lie when they say it’s America."
The water and electricity outages that paralyzed people's lives and businesses are not a problem exclusive to Sabzevar residents. Protest shouts from people in different parts of Tehran and across the country, especially in the western and southern regions, are escalating. On the evening of July 22, after hours of protests in Sabzevar, people in parts of Tehran and Shiraz chanted slogans such as "Death to the dictator" and "Death to Khamenei" in protest against the recurring water and electricity shortages.
Despite the major crisis in water and electricity and an unprecedented heatwave, the mullah regime neither wants nor can find a solution to these crises. It sees repression and externally manufactured crises as the only means to control the situation and face the uprising. On Monday, July 21, 2025, concurrently with the Sabzevar uprising, Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with the Quds Force, quoted the head of the regime’s Planning and Budget Organization as saying: "In this situation, strengthening defensive foundations is the top priority for the entire regime, and the government, parliament, and judiciary are pursuing the same goal."
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the elected president of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, saluted the leading women and the protesting residents of Sabzevar, saying: "Like many of Iran’s resources, the water supplies in the country have not been spared from looting and corruption by the regime and its brutal agents in the Revolutionary Guards. Years of mismanagement and exploitation have pushed Tehran and most of the country to the edge of a devastating water crisis.
"The cut in electricity and water during the scorching summer has created unbearable conditions for deprived communities and destroyed the livelihoods of countless farmers. Even regime officials and government experts warn of a worse crisis in the coming months.
"The unrestrained exploitation of water resources by industries serving the Revolutionary Guards, excessive groundwater use, and the construction of dams benefiting regime-affiliated entities owned by the Guards have brought even water-rich areas of Iran to a crisis.
"The ruling mullahs have destroyed the land and the people together. The only way to salvation is a national uprising to overthrow the regime — to establish democracy, justice, and the will of the people."
