UNHCR Continues Coordinating with the Return of Displaced Persons from al-Areesha Camp in Hasakah
مفوضية الأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced on Sunday its ongoing efforts to coordinate the voluntary return of displaced persons from Al-Areesha Camp in the countryside of Hasakah to their hometowns in various Syrian provinces, especially Deir ez-Zor. The agency indicated that it has provided support to approximately 546 families, equivalent to around 2,757 individuals, through organizing 13 structured trips to transport them to their areas.

The agency primarily arranges transportation operations to Deir ez-Zor, but some families have also returned to Damascus, Homs, and Hama. It also revealed that its partners are offering legal services, awareness sessions, case management, and providing families with essential information to help them prepare for the return process.
