بلدية بيتا تقدّر أضرار السوق بأكثر من 4 ملايين شيكل وتدعو الشباب للتحلي بالمسؤولية

Beita Municipality announced that the damages caused to the city’s market as a result of the storming by occupation forces during their pursuit of militants have exceeded four million shekels, emphasizing that these losses represent a severe blow to the local economy.

The municipality stated in a press release that the storming resulted in extensive destruction of the market’s infrastructure, including shops and stalls, which led to a halt in trading activities and caused significant losses to merchants and shop owners. It also indicated that the process of repair and restoring the market to its normal state will require time, effort, and a large budget, posing a threat to the stability of hundreds of families who rely on the market as a primary source of income.

Many traders and residents of the city expressed their dissatisfaction with the incident, considering that the economic damages caused by the storming could leave long-term impacts on the commercial and living activities in Beita. Some confirmed that rebuilding the market requires urgent compensation and a government support plan to help those affected overcome the crisis.

Meanwhile, community and youth voices have called for the necessity of acting responsibly and avoiding any actions that could attract occupation forces to vital areas such as commercial centers and neighborhoods near schools. These voices emphasized that protecting the social and economic fabric of the city requires cooperation from all parties, especially youth, to maintain the security and stability of Beita and prevent further losses.

While investigations and damage assessments are ongoing, the municipality assured that it will work with official authorities and the local community to develop an urgent plan for rebuilding the market and supporting merchants, in an effort to contain the repercussions of this painful incident and revive the city’s economic activity.
