Champions League: Arsenal crushes Real Madrid 3-0
أرسنال

The English team Arsenal achieved a remarkable victory on Tuesday, putting one foot into the semi-finals of the Champions League after defeating the reigning champions, Real Madrid, 3-0 in the away match of the quarter-finals.

In another match, Inter Milan managed to secure a valuable win over Bayern Munich, finishing the game 2-1, which also brings them closer to qualification for the semi-finals.

Arsenal's victory was largely due to midfielder Declan Rice, who scored two goals from free kicks in the 58th and 70th minutes, before adding the third goal through Spanish player Mikel Merino in the 75th minute. Coach Carlo Ancelotti's team will face a tough challenge in the return leg in Madrid next Wednesday, trying to recover from this harsh defeat.

This win places Arsenal in a position to dream of repeating their historic achievement in 2006 when they eliminated Real Madrid in the Round of 16, allowing them to reach their only final in history, which they lost to Barcelona 2-1.

Merino, who scored the third goal, noted Arsenal's attacking spirit in the second half and praised Rice's shooting skills, describing his two goals as "fantastic."

Returning to the team, winger Bukayo Saka started for Arsenal for the first time in about three and a half months, giving the team an early attacking boost, as goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois thwarted several attempts during the first half before Rice's spectacular strike resulted in a goal in the second half.

Despite attempts by French forward Kylian Mbappé (in the 31st and 53rd minutes) to equalize for Real Madrid, the team's efforts bore no fruit, especially after midfielder Camavinga was sent off in the 90+4 minute.

In the second matchup in Munich, Inter achieved an important victory over Bayern Munich with a score of 2-1, with Argentine Lautaro Martínez scoring the first goal in the 38th minute, followed by substitute Davide Frattesi adding the second goal in the 88th minute, while Bayern's only goal came from Thomas Müller in the 85th minute.

This victory represents a personal achievement for Inter's coach, Simone Inzaghi, who managed to overcome Bayern for the first time in their fifth encounter. This is also Bayern's first home loss in the Champions League since their defeat to Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 in the 2020-2021 season.

Despite Bayern's ongoing efforts led by Englishman Harry Kane and Frenchman Michael Oliseh, the German team could not avoid defeat, and now they need to win by at least two goals in the return leg to renew their hopes of reaching the semi-finals.
