Russia Accuses Ukraine of Drone Attack on Turkstream Gas Station

Russia accused Ukraine on Monday of launching an attack using drones on the gas distribution station of the "Turkstream" pipeline, which is considered the only route for transporting Russian gas to Europe after the interruption of supplies through Ukrainian territory starting January 1 and the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipeline in 2022.
The Russian military stated in a press release that "the Kyiv regime attempted an attack with 9 drones" on the gas distribution station located in the Krasnodar region of southwestern Russia, aiming to "disrupt gas supplies to European countries." The statement confirmed that all drones were shot down without affecting the operation of the station.
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukraine had attempted on Saturday to target the "Turkstream" pressure station near the city of Anapa in the Krasnodar region.
In a statement released by the ministry on Monday, it said: "On January 11, the Kyiv regime attempted, with the goal of halting gas supplies to European countries, to launch an attack using 9 drones on the infrastructure of the 'Ruskaia' pressure station in the town of Gay-Kodzur (Krasnodar region), which supports gas supplies through the 'Turkstream' pipeline."
The ministry added that air defense units were able to repel this attack and shot down all the drones without recording any damage to the station.
