Security Report Raises Questions About the Relationship Between Damascus and ISIS
العلاقة بين دمشق وتنظيم «داعش»

DEEPINFO, a platform known for publishing security leaks and documents, reported that a source in Syria’s Ministry of Interior had spoken about a security report submitted to Syrian Ahmad al-Sharaa. The report reportedly addresses what it describes as an alleged agreement between the authorities and “11” to halt attacks.

According to the platform, the alleged agreement would require the group to stop its attacks in exchange for the authorities refraining from pursuing its leaders or targeting its headquarters. The report also reportedly expressed concern about divisions within the group and the possibility of further attacks despite the alleged truce.

The platform added that the report includes estimates claiming that around 20 to 30 percent of personnel in the Ministry of Interior, and 35 to 45 percent of personnel in the Ministry of Defense, had previously been affiliated with the group.

The published information did not include independent details confirming the report’s contents or the accuracy of these estimates. Nor did it mention any official response from the Syrian authorities.
