Arab and International Condemnation of Israeli Attacks on Syrian Territories

It called on all parties to contribute to the Syrian government’s efforts to de-escalate the situation. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Israel’s support for some Druze and their turning into a source of instability is unacceptable. He stressed the importance of central control over all of Syria to achieve peace and security.
Germany: Protecting Syria’s Sovereignty Is a Priority
The German Foreign Ministry called on Israel to refrain from any actions that could destabilize Syria. Spokesperson Christian Wagner clarified that Berlin is closely monitoring events in Syria, especially the recent strikes in Sweida, emphasizing the necessity for Syria to maintain its sovereignty and prevent becoming a battleground for foreign powers’ conflicts.
Lebanon: Violation of International Law
Lebanese President Jozef Aoun condemned Israel’s repeated attacks on Damascus and government headquarters, describing them as a blatant violation of the sovereignty of a neighboring Arab country, as well as a breach of United Nations laws and the UN Charter.
Jordan: Syria’s Right to Control Its Lands
The Jordanian government reaffirmed Syria’s right to control its entire territory, considering the people of Sweida as an integral part of the Syrian nation.
UAE: Support for Syrian Stability
The United Arab Emirates welcomed the ceasefire in Sweida and condemned the Israeli escalation against Syria. The UAE reiterated its support for Syria’s stability and unity, according to a statement from its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Oman: Rejection of Sovereignty Violations
Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the Israeli attacks, affirming its continued rejection of violations of states’ sovereignty. It called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to take necessary measures to ensure Israel’s complete withdrawal from Syrian-occupied territories.
United States: Efforts to Reduce Tensions
U.S. President Donald Trump described the situation in Syria as a misunderstanding between the Syrian and Israeli sides. He stated that he has spoken with both parties and is working on reducing tensions to help stabilize the country. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also announced that all parties have agreed to steps to end violence, expecting everyone to fulfill their commitments to achieve stability.
China: Respect for Syrian Sovereignty
The Chinese Foreign Ministry called for respect for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It emphasized that no actions should be taken to escalate the situation, especially amid the current unrest in the Middle East.
Israeli Attack on Damascus
In this context, Israel carried out airstrikes yesterday within central Damascus, resulting in the death and injury of dozens of civilians and extensive damage. This comes amid ongoing battles between the Syrian army and militias in Sweida, aimed at restoring control, reactivating national institutions, and easing citizens’ lives.
