The Sajel Center reported that 46 Syrian prisoners are still being held in Israeli prisons, according to the latest monitoring data collected by the center, noting that the oldest arrest cases still being tracked date back to late 2024, while arrests continued through August.

According to information documented by the center, the Syrian detainees are held in the Sde Teiman camp, Nafha Prison in the Negev desert, and Ofer Prison near Ramallah. It added that the reasons for detention announced by Israeli authorities in some cases included accusations related to possession or trafficking of weapons.

The center said, based on testimonies from six prisoners who were recently released, that the Syrian detainees were subjected to interrogations covering details of their personal and social lives, their families, relationships, and movements. They also spoke about harsh living conditions, including a lack of food, no heating during the winter, and daily searches.

Sajel Center also noted that it documented 186 detention cases in which those arrested were released within no more than about 24 hours in most cases, adding that detention periods varied between short-term arrests and detentions lasting for months and more than a year.
