A new humanitarian aid convoy departs for the Suwayda Province
قافلة مساعدات

This morning, Saturday, a new convoy of humanitarian aid, consisting of 11 trucks, set out towards Suwayda Province in southern Syria, according to information from the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The agency indicated that the convoy includes relief and food supplies, which traveled to the Namer town bridge in the Daraa countryside before reaching the province, under the supervision of the Syrian Red Crescent.

Regarding the nature of the aid, the Red Crescent clarified that part of the supplies is sufficient to cover some of the basic needs of the residents in Suwayda, but it is not enough to meet all requirements.

In statements to Syria TV, Omar Al-Maliki, the spokesperson of the Syrian Red Crescent, confirmed that the humanitarian situation in Suwayda requires urgent intervention, especially in the areas of food, water, and healthcare, which can no longer wait.

In recent weeks, Suwayda Province has experienced a severe deterioration in humanitarian conditions due to security tensions, clashes between tribes and armed factions, and escalation following government intervention and Israeli airstrikes. This has led to shortages of food, flour, fuel, and a decline in medical services because of damage to hospitals and shortages of medical supplies.

After a relative stabilization of the situation, the Syrian government, in cooperation with the Red Crescent, international, and local organizations, delivered several aid convoys that included flour, food, medicines, and fuel supplies to support vital facilities. The Ministry of Interior denied some reports indicating that the province was under siege.
