Agreement to Cease Clashes Near the French Camp in Harim Under Mediation
Reliable sources have revealed that a mediation led by leaders of the Islamic Turkistani Party and Uzbek fighters resulted in an agreement to halt clashes around the French camp near the city of Harim in northern Idlib, and to withdraw heavy weaponry from the area. The sources explained that the agreement focuses on referring all files related to the camp to the judiciary, as well as appointing mediators from the party and Uzbek fighters to follow up on the fate of Omar Diaby, known as "Oumsin," the commander of the French Ghouls Battalion, who is wanted by French authorities, along with several other French leaders.
This agreement came after widespread tensions in the region between the "Public Security" forces on one side and fighters from the Ghouls Battalion on the other. Fierce clashes erupted on Tuesday and Wednesday following an attempt by security forces to raid the camp to arrest Diaby and hand him over to French authorities. However, swift intervention by mediators from the Uzbeks and leaders of the Islamic Turkistani Party helped stop the confrontations and prevent their escalation, while efforts for de-escalation between the parties were reinforced.
These developments reflect the importance of the role played by mediators in calming tensions in the region, especially amid the volatile security scene, and indicate a desire among the different parties to stabilize the situation and avoid broader escalation that could threaten regional stability.
