Manama’s endorsement of the agreement aligns with broader Arab efforts to restore regional stability and support political solutions that minimize foreign interventions
Bahrain has welcomed the agreement integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into Syrian institutions, signed between Syria’s interim transitional president, Ahmad Al-Sharaa, and SDF Commander Mazloum Abdi in Damascus.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this agreement represents "a positive step toward strengthening the foundations of a constitutional state built on justice, citizenship, and the rule of law."
The ministry further expressed support for the agreement, stating that it "reinforces Syria’s territorial integrity and firmly rejects any division attempts."
Reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, security, and stability, the statement urged all Syrian factions to "unite, prioritize national interests, reject division and hatred, and actively contribute to rebuilding state institutions in pursuit of security, stability, and prosperity."
On Monday evening, the Syrian presidency announced the signing of the agreement, which stipulates the full integration of SDF forces into state institutions under the Syrian government’s administration.
The agreement consists of eight key provisions, including:
Rejecting separatist movements,
Integrating all civil and military institutions in northeastern Syria within the Syrian state’s governance, including border crossings, airports, and energy resources,
Implementing a nationwide ceasefire,
Supporting Syria’s efforts to combat the remnants of the former regime and other threats to national security and unity.
