Biden Discusses the Hostage Issue in Gaza with Trump

Axios reported, citing informed sources, that U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to bring up the issue of American hostages in Gaza during his meeting today with President-elect Donald Trump, amid complaints from the families of Israeli hostages about a recent lack of communication regarding their loved ones.
The report indicated that Biden will meet with the families of the seven Americans held by Hamas. These sources confirmed that Biden is still working to achieve a breakthrough in negotiations for the release of the "hostages" and a ceasefire in Gaza.
On another front, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that Qatar and Egypt are engaged in negotiations to reach an agreement that would facilitate the release of the prisoners in Gaza, while families of the hostages in Gaza have expressed concerns over diminishing signs of life among their loved ones.
During a press conference, Jean-Pierre stated that Washington believes there are several initiatives and approaches that could lead to an agreement between Hamas and Israel. She emphasized that the U.S. continues to seek a path to reach a conclusion, adding, "We will keep doing this work; this has been our commitment and will remain so."
Additionally, Israeli Channel 12 reported that families of the hostages expressed that the number of signs indicating the hostages' survival has decreased recently, and they have not received any signs of life or indications regarding their condition for a long time.
According to these families, they used to receive periodic information in the past through different means, such as returning prisoners or other channels; however, as time passes, the available information diminishes significantly.
One family member mentioned that security officials informed them that communication had been lost with some of the hostages.
The channel reported, citing senior officials, that intelligence information is diminishing as the fighting continues, which reduces the chances of carrying out a military rescue operation for the hostages.
