Convoy Carrying Around 90 Families Leaves Jarablus Camps for Their Areas of Origin
A convoy carrying around 90 families has left camps in the Jarablus area of Aleppo countryside, heading to their areas of origin in al-Bab, al-Safira, Jabal Semaan, and Ain al-Arab, as part of voluntary return operations for displaced people from camps in northern Syria.
The convoy was organized in coordination with the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor and the Jarablus Area Administration, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, and a humanitarian organization.
The move comes as part of ongoing efforts to return displaced people to their areas of origin, amid calls to provide suitable security, public services, and living conditions to ensure the stability of returnees and prevent them from being displaced again.
In the same context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on August 27 that successive convoys carrying hundreds of families had left camps in the countryside of Idlib, Aleppo, and Afrin, heading to various areas and governorates.
One of the convoys included approximately 156 families who left camps in northern Idlib countryside and headed to their areas of origin in Damascus and its countryside, as well as the governorates of Latakia and Hama. The move was part of programs aimed at emptying the camps and returning their residents in coordination with UNHCR.
Meanwhile, another 61 families left several camps in northern Aleppo countryside, including Bab al-Nour, Tal Jibeen, al-Tawhid, al-Muqawama, al-Haramain, Shamarin, and Tariq al-Qalaa camps. They headed to their areas of origin in Tal Rifaat, Jabal Semaan, Hreitan, Khanasir, Salamiyah, Raqqa, and Baniyas.
