Iran Reveals Death Toll in the War with Israel
ايران واسرائيل

Iran announced on Tuesday its latest figures regarding the war it fought against Israel in June, which lasted for twelve days.

Iranian government spokesperson Fatima Maghari stated that the total number of casualties in Iran from this conflict has reached at least 1,062 people, including 102 women and 38 children. Iranian officials had previously announced that the official number of Iranian victims was 935, but they later revealed an increase in the figures officially.

In a notable development, Iranian President Masoud Boshkeian admitted, for the first time last Thursday, that there were security failures during the war and its aftermath. He said that “security shortcomings highlighted during the war must be analyzed and addressed,” according to reports from the German news agency (DPA) during a cabinet meeting in Tehran.

During the 12-day confrontation, many senior Iranian military leaders were killed in their homes, and military and nuclear facilities were targeted. Additionally, some relatively unknown targets were hit, and experts believe that executing such operations would have required precise internal intelligence.

There have been ongoing speculations for weeks about broad cooperation between elements within Iran and the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. Several individuals have already been arrested on charges of espionage on behalf of Mossad, as part of ongoing accusations against some individuals in the country.
