Israeli Analyst: Assad’s Regime Fell Thanks to Israel, and Turkey Benefited
تركيا واسرائيل

Amid growing Israeli analysis of the situation in Syria, Israeli analyst Meir Masri said in remarks to the Hebrew-language channel i24NEWS that Israel has a presence “deep inside Syria and Lebanon,” describing Israeli actions as part of a broader strategic context.

Commenting on the political changes, Masri claimed that Assad’s regime “fell thanks to Israel,” while noting that Turkey had benefited from the new regional balance of power.

The remarks come as Israel and Turkey compete over influence in Syria, with tensions extending beyond political statements to military positioning and security interests. Media reports have pointed to Israeli concerns about Turkish moves in Syria, amid warnings that an unintended escalation could lead to a confrontation neither side wants. The two countries differ, however, over the nature of military activity and the limits of their influence inside Syrian territory.
