Missile and Drone Operations Cause Widespread Damage and Losses in Ukraine
روسيا وأوكرانيا

Ukrainian officials reported that Russian forces conducted a large-scale attack using missiles and drones targeting several regions across Ukraine on Saturday morning, resulting in at least three deaths and dozens of injuries. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the attacks targeted nine areas, including Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhia, Poltava, Kyiv, Odesa, Tumi, and Kharkiv.

Zelensky explained that the enemy targeted infrastructure, densely populated civilian areas, and public institutions. He noted that a cluster missile hit a multi-story building in Dnipro. Local Governor Serhiy Lysak indicated that over 26 people were injured during the attack on the Dnipro region in central Ukraine, and many residential buildings and homes in the eastern city of Dnipro were damaged.

In Kyiv, officials confirmed that the attacks targeted Bucha, Boryspil, and Obukhiv, destroying homes and vehicles. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s air defenses in Lviv managed to shoot down two cruise missiles. Ukrainian Air Force sources highlighted that fighter jets, especially Western F-16s, effectively intercepted the missiles, reaffirming the effectiveness of Western weapons on the battlefield.

Zelensky announced that Russia launched 40 missiles and 580 drones during the recent attack, resulting in three deaths and multiple injuries. He emphasized that each strike of this kind is not necessary militarily but aims strategically to terrorize civilians and destroy vital infrastructure. He called on Ukraine’s allies to strengthen air defense systems and impose further sanctions on Moscow.

In a related development, other Ukrainian cities such as Pavlohrad, Nikolaev, and Sumy experienced explosions caused by missile attacks. Additionally, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 149 Ukrainian drones overnight over Crimea and various Russian regions across multiple provinces, reflecting a clear escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two countries.
