Lebanese Forces party leader Samir Geagea presented his vision of the Lebanese crisis in an interview with "Al-Arabiya" and "Al-Hadath" channels, warning against the country's slide toward more "killing, destruction, and ruin".

Geagea pointed to his previous warnings about war outbreak, criticizing the government's failure to deploy the army on the borders, adding: "If the Lebanese army had been on the borders, Israel would not have attacked Lebanon."

He criticized Presidents Nabih Berri and Najib Mikati's view of Resolution 1701, describing their approach as "partial," and confirming their lack of desire to address Hezbollah's weapons issue. Geagea denied accusations against his party of seeking war continuation, affirming the presentation of initiatives to avoid military escalation.

On the presidential file, Geagea announced he would not run for the position, refusing to name a specific candidate "to prevent their elimination," accusing the resistance axis of obstructing elections to impose a candidate aligned with its vision.

He showed cautious openness toward army commander Joseph Aoun's candidacy, conditioning knowledge of his political orientations before supporting him, while criticizing the lack of response from the Kataeb party for rapprochement despite unity in national choices.

Geagea concluded by calling for implementing the Taif Agreement, emphasizing the country's need for a "brave and clear position" in facing current challenges.
