Syria Dismantles Large Drug Shipment Bound for Saudi Arabia
سوريا تحبط شحنة مخدرات ضخمة متجهة إلى السعودية

Syrian media announced the successful operation of the Drug Control Department in Dara Governorate, which seized approximately one million captagon pills carefully hidden inside soda beverage shipments on Monday evening. The Syrian News Agency (SANA) explained that the smuggling was headed toward Saudi Arabia via the Nasib border crossing with Jordan and was halted during an attempt to import it into the country.

In a related development, the Drug Control Department in Aleppo, in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces, apprehended an expansive drug trafficking network. A statement from the Syrian Ministry of Interior indicated that the operation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics, estimated at around 100,000 pills, intended for distribution in city neighborhoods. The required legal measures were taken, and the detainees were referred to the judiciary.

The ministry also revealed that the Drug Control Department in Damascus, in coordination with the Internal Security Forces, confiscated a massive amount of drugs prepared for distribution within the country, as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug proliferation and track smuggling networks.

Recently, last Thursday, drug control forces succeeded in seizing approximately 61 kilograms of hashish, 725 grams of heroin, and 4,700 captagon pills, as part of their continuous campaigns against drug trafficking and distribution.

The Drug Control Department expressed its determination to continue its vigorous efforts to dismantle smuggling and trafficking networks, aiming to protect society and secure a safer future.
