The Supreme Legal Committee in Sweida rejects foreign interference in Sweida's affairs.

Recently, there has been a circulating discussion of appointment and change decisions issued by the so-called interim government in Damascus in Sweida's districts, and the resulting attempt to impose guardianship over the management of the governorate's affairs. In this regard, the Supreme Legal Committee in Sweida emphasizes the following:

First: These appointments issued by a body devoid of legal and political legitimacy do not bind anyone in Sweida and do not have any significant legal or administrative impact. The interim government in Damascus, which lacks any popular or constitutional mandate, has no legal authority to interfere in the internal affairs of Sweida, which has chosen to govern itself, free from corruption, authoritarianism, and detachment from the political and social reality it represents.

Second: The committee considers these appointments a failed attempt to reproduce central guardianship and impose foreign will on Sweida's institutions, in complete disregard for the will, sacrifices, and steadfastness of its people. No party, regardless of its claim, will be allowed to tamper with the independence of local decision-making or use public office as a tool for blackmail or political manipulation. Third: The people of Sweida, who have proven through years of struggle and awareness their ability to manage their affairs efficiently and impartially, affirm that they do not need orders from above from a body that does not represent them or respect their dignity. Anyone who accepts to be a means to implement these illegitimate appointments places themselves outside the framework of popular and institutional trust and bears legal and moral responsibility before society.

Fourth: The Committee affirms that it closely monitors the performance of service directorates and institutions and that it will take the necessary legal action against any party that colludes in attempts to impose guardianship or obstruct the will of the people of the mountain. It will be vigilant in uncovering and documenting any violations or transgressions, regardless of their source or political justification.

Fifth: While the Committee categorically rejects any interference by the Damascus government in the internal affairs of Sweida, it calls on all public sector workers to adhere to a spirit of national responsibility and stand united to repel attempts at hegemony and disintegration. It stresses the importance of preserving the dignity of Sweida and ensuring that its institutions continue to serve its people, free from dependency and blind obedience.
