A Egyptian source told "Al Arabiya.net" that three employees of the Qatari Embassy in Cairo were killed, and three others were injured in a traffic accident that occurred near Sharm El-Sheikh on Saturday evening. The source explained that the accident resulted from excessive speed and a tire explosion on the vehicle, which was transporting the employees from Cairo to Sharm El-Sheikh.

The source indicated that the deceased are not diplomats but work as part of the logistics team preparing for the Qatari delegation participating in the ceasefire signing ceremony in Gaza, scheduled to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh next Monday. He added that the accident took place on the tunnel road in the city of Tour, about 50 kilometers from Sharm El-Sheikh, one of the modern roads built to international standards.

It was confirmed that the vehicle was carrying seven passengers, and the accident resulted in injuries to three individuals, one of whom is in good condition, while two are in the hospital—one in the operating room and the other under examination currently.

Regarding the procedures, the bodies of the employees were transferred to Sharm El-Sheikh Hospital, and the Egyptian and Qatari foreign ministries are coordinating to transfer them to Doha in the coming hours after completing legal procedures. A security team, headed by the Ministry of Interior, has been formed to follow up on the circumstances of the accident, with the minister monitoring the details.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian presidency announced that an international summit titled "Sharm El-Sheikh for Peace" will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh on Monday, with the participation of leaders from over 20 countries. The summit will be jointly chaired by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump, aiming to end the Gaza war, strengthen peace efforts, regional stability, and open a new page for regional security.
