Explosions in Idlib... Four people killed
انفجار ادلب

Multiple explosions rocked the city of Idlib in northwestern Syria today, Thursday, resulting in the deaths of four people and injuries to others, amid panic among residents. It is believed that the explosions were caused by an ammunition depot detonating in the area. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing to extract victims from the rubble.

The Syrian Ministry of Health issued a statement indicating that the initial toll from the explosion, which occurred in the western parts of the city, is four fatalities and four injuries. The injured have been transferred to hospitals for treatment, and medical teams are monitoring their conditions. The ministry did not specify the cause of the incident, but local sources suggest it may have resulted from an ammunition depot explosion, especially given the repeated detonation sounds and the presence of ammunition at the site.

The Syrian Civil Defense confirmed that rescue teams have so far recovered the bodies of a man and a child, and have rescued three injured individuals, one of whom was trapped under the rubble. The source emphasized that the casualty count is still preliminary and that search operations are continuing.

In a related context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the explosions resulted from the detonation of an ammunition and foreign fighters’ base in farms west of Idlib. This coincided with a drone flying overhead, which caused thick smoke to rise and created chaos and fear among the residents, who heard loud explosions that echoed throughout the region.
