Israeli Incursions Amid the Absence of an Official Syrian Response

A new field development has unfolded in northern Quneitra countryside, as an Israeli military patrol advanced toward the Tarnajeh–Hadar road. This move is part of a growing pattern of Israeli military activity along the border strip, sparking concern and anticipation among residents in southern Syria—particularly given the continued absence of any official response from the Syrian government to these repeated violations.
In a related development, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented a significant escalation in Israeli aerial activity, especially over the provinces of Quneitra and Daraa. Israeli reconnaissance aircraft reportedly flew intensively in the area, accompanied by the heavy deployment of illumination flares over Harsh al-Jabiliyah in western rural Daraa and areas west of Nawa city, near the administrative border with Quneitra.
The Observatory warned of the growing danger posed by this escalation, noting that it reflects rising tensions along the southern border amid the Syrian government's inability to effectively assert security control or prevent these areas from turning into an open arena for regional power struggles.
It is worth noting that this is not an isolated incident. On July 29, four Israeli military vehicles reportedly advanced from the occupied Golan Heights toward a newly established medical point in the village of Al-Hamidiyah, in northern Quneitra. The move raised further questions regarding the nature of repeated Israeli field operations inside Syrian territory and the possible limits of any domestic response to contain this expanding military presence.
Amid this ongoing reality, fears are mounting that the continued escalation—paired with internal official silence—could eventually lead to a larger confrontation, potentially dragging southern Syria back into the spotlight, with no clear prospects for resolution or lasting stability.
