Netanyahu Threatens Iran After "Soroka Strike"

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Thursday to hold Iran accountable in response to a missile strike that hit Soroka Hospital in southern Israel, stating that Iran "will pay a heavy price" for the attack.
According to a post on X, Netanyahu said: "This morning, Iran's terrorist oppressors launched rockets at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba and at civilians in central Israel. We will make Tehran's oppressors pay a heavy price."
In a related development, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz threatened that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei "will bear responsibility" for the missile attack on the hospital, emphasizing that the military has been instructed to "intensify strikes" on Iran.
Katz stated in a statement: "This is among the most severe war crimes, and Khamenei will be held responsible for his actions." He added: "Prime Minister Netanyahu and I have ordered the military to increase strikes against strategic targets in Iran, including energy infrastructure in Tehran, to eliminate threats against Israel and to defeat the Iranian regime."
On Thursday, Soroka Hospital in Beersheba was directly hit by an Iranian missile, causing extensive damage and injuring several people. Rescue teams confirmed that the Iranian attack precisely targeted the hospital, resulting in widespread destruction. There are concerns about the leakage of dangerous materials after the upper floor of the building was struck.
Israeli media reported a hazardous material leak following the attack, and police began evacuating the area as a precaution against further risks.
Meanwhile, Israeli ambulance services reported that at least 30 people were injured due to falling rockets in various parts of Israel.
