The forces of the Ministry of Defense and Internal Security succeeded in entering the center of al-Suwayda after fierce clashes with what is known as lawless factions. The Media and Communications Department of the Ministry of Defense stated that "the Syrian Army forces have begun entering al-Suwayda city," according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).

This marks the first time the Syrian Army has entered al-Suwayda, a Druze-majority city, since the fall of former President Bashar al-Assad's regime. The Syrian Army had confirmed on Tuesday that "lawless groups" were attempting to evade confrontation by withdrawing to the city center.

In related operations, the Media Department of the Ministry of Defense affirmed that the army is continuing its efforts to restore stability and security around the city. It called on the residents of al-Suwayda to "stay in their homes and report any suspicious movements by lawless groups, which may use residential neighborhoods to carry out attacks."

Earlier on Tuesday morning, the head of internal security in the province announced a curfew in the city streets, ongoing until further notice, urging residents to stay indoors to prevent gangs from using residential buildings for hostile activities against government forces.

On Monday evening, government forces advanced toward al-Suwayda, which has a Druze majority, following battles that resulted in the death of approximately 100 extremist elements. In this context, Israel claimed to have intervened by shelling Syrian tanks, warning against targeting the Druze community in the region.
