Trump: I'm Not Worried About Houthi Attacks After US Air Strikes

US President Donald Trump expressed little concern regarding threats from the Houthis in Yemen, following the US military's new airstrikes on their positions for the second consecutive day, with official announcements indicating the continuation of these operations in the upcoming period.

In a statement during his return flight from Florida to Washington, Trump told reporters in response to a question about his concerns over potential retaliatory actions by the Houthis, "No... I'm not worried... in fact, no.

For its part, US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed today that the United States continues its airstrikes against the Iran-backed Houthis. Although additional details were not provided, CENTCOM shared a video on X showing military aircraft taking off, stating that "the US Central Command forces continue their operations against the terrorist Houthis."

In the same context, the Houthi-controlled Yemeni news agency "Saba" reported that two airstrikes occurred this Monday morning in the coastal city of Al-Hudaydah, which is about 230 kilometers from the capital, Sana'a.

Trump had issued orders last Saturday for intensive strikes against the Houthis in several Yemeni provinces, including Sana'a and their stronghold in Saada in the far north of the country, which suffers from the consequences of war. The US president explained that the airstrikes targeted Houthi bases, leadership structures, and missile defense sites as part of efforts to protect US shipping in the region and restore freedom of navigation.

Since the onset of the conflict in Gaza in October 2023, the Houthi group has conducted several attacks on Israel and international commercial vessels. In response to these attacks, Israel, the United States, and Britain have carried out repeated operations against Houthi targets in Yemen.

Following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in January, Houthi attacks had ceased.
