Yemeni Government Forces Advance in Al-Jawf and Approach the Provincial Capital
Yemeni government forces announced on Tuesday that they had made field advances in Al-Jawf Governorate after taking control of the Al-Yatamah area in the Khub wa ash Sha’af district, bringing them closer to Al-Hazm, the governorate’s capital.
Military sources told *Erm News* that government forces, backed by tribal fighters, entered Al-Yatamah on Tuesday morning. The sources said military operations were continuing toward Al-Hazm, amid expectations that the advance would continue in the coming hours.
Meanwhile, Tareq Saleh, Vice Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, said that the armed forces had, in his words, “broken the Iranian project” that had been seeking to control the Bab al-Mandab area.
During a visit to wounded fighters from the front lines in hospitals in the city of Mokha, Taiz Governorate, Saleh said that opening battlefronts against the Houthi group and Iran would strengthen resilience and lead to further victories, ultimately paving the way for the liberation of Sana’a.
He reiterated that the ultimate objective was to retake the Yemeni capital and regain control of the country’s entire territory, while ending the influence of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and affiliated groups in Yemen.
