German Special Envoy to Syria, Stefan Schneck, expressed his support on Wednesday for the agreement signed between Syria’s interim transitional president, Ahmad Al-Sharaa, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
In a statement reported by Al-Ikhbariya Syria, Schneck described the agreement as "a step in the right direction." He emphasized Germany’s commitment to supporting the Syrian people and reconstruction efforts following the fall of the Assad regime.
The envoy also noted that major sanctions imposed on Syria had been lifted, stressing that Germany is seeking a reliable partner for transparent dialogue.
On Tuesday, during an interview with Syria TV, Schneck stated that the agreement "presents a historic opportunity for achieving lasting peace in Syria and the region."
He underlined the need for substantial compromise and trust-building among involved parties, expressing optimism that if this process succeeds, Syria has the potential for a more stable future.

On Monday, the Syrian presidency announced the signing of an agreement that stipulates the integration of SDF forces into the institutions of the Syrian Arab Republic, reaffirming Syria’s territorial unity and rejecting division.

According to the meeting between interim transitional president Ahmad Al-Sharaa and SDF commander Mazloum Abdi, the agreement outlines the following:

Guaranteeing the rights of all Syrians in political representation and state institutions based on competence, regardless of religious or ethnic backgrounds.

Recognizing the Kurdish community as an integral part of Syria, with full citizenship rights ensured by the state.

Implementing a nationwide ceasefire across Syria.

Integrating all civil and military institutions in northeastern Syria under the administration of the Syrian state, including border crossings, airports, and oil and gas fields.

Ensuring the safe return of all displaced Syrians and guaranteeing their protection by the state.

Supporting the Syrian state in its fight against Assad loyalist remnants and any threats to national security and unity.

Rejecting separatist calls, hate speech, and any attempts to incite discord among Syrian communities.

Forming executive committees to implement the agreement, with full execution expected by the end of the year.
